Description

Tyne Amateur Rowing Club

The North East now has one of the country’s most sought after boathouses.  S V Rutter Ltd were able to demonstrate our diversity by constructing an impressive new home to accommodate the club’s expanding membership and ambitions.

Design and Build – S V Rutter Ltd worked with Tyne Amateur Rowing Club to develop and understand the functional needs of a rowing club so that the boathouse design could be established to not only meet the current demands of the club, but also those in perpetuity. Along with a significant legacy donation, Sport England were the main funder of the project. Our design development stage included adhering to Sport England’s rigorous standards and design criteria without compromising the fundamental needs of the club.
There was also the added consideration of maintaining the Historic River God Tyne stone carving which was respectfully reinstated in the club’s vestibule.

TESTIMONIAL

S V Rutter Ltd were employed to build our new state of the art £1m boat house based on their reputation for delivering similar sized projects.  They demonstrated an eagerness to understand the requirements of our club, right from the onset.  Throughout the project, they willingly accommodated our needs to enable the club to remain functional whilst the works were taking place.  I would not hesitate to recommend Tony and his team for their courtesy and professionalism.
